It’s here! It’s finally here! Pardon my excitement as I gush over the one minute and 11 second teaser for Netflix’s El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie. It doesn’t really hint at much but confirms that it will pick up after Breaking Bad‘s series finale Felina, where Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) finally speeds away from his meth lab prison on drug leader Todd’s El Camino.
Its no secret that I think Breaking Bad is the BEST television show I have ever seen, from start to finish, bar none. This is why it excited me to no end to find out that Netflix picked up movie rights to continue its story, and that original writer/director Vince Gilligan is on board.
In the trailer, we see Skinny Pete being interrogated about Jesse Pinkman’s wherabouts but the character, played by Charles Baker refuses to give up his pal after hashing out the sins committed against Jesse. Technically, the teaser really doesn’t give out a lot of information about the trajectory of the story but I would really like to touch base with my favorite character in the show and see where that El Camino was able to take him.
Of course, it wouldn’t hurt to check back with Walter White (Bryan Cranston) a bit, as he was on the verge of death the last time fans saw him. Whether it be in the form a flashback or whatever, having Bryan Cranston on board would be a welcome fan service.
I still have to wait until the full trailer comes out to give my thoughts on the Breaking Bad film which will drop on Netflix October 11, 2019. Best piece of advice, rewatch the entire series from start to finish to better appreciate the coolness of this new installment.
