Seo Ye Ji’s revenge: Latest film ‘Recalled’ tops box office reservations in Korea

Fans of embattled Its Okay Not to Be Okay actress Seo Ye Ji recently showed an outpouring of support after she received a strong negative publicity because of her former relationship with Mr. Queen actor Kim Jung Hyun. Her upcoming film ‘Recalled’ beat Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum starrer Seobok in the box office.

According to reports from the Korean Film Council, Recalled took first place for ticket reservations as moviegoers bought 33,012 tickets for Seo Ye Ji’s film. The film outsold the much anticipated Seobok which is slated for release in Korea at the same time.

It can be recalled that Seo Ye Ji was recently embroiled in controversy after her chat logs with boyfriend Kim Jung Hyun was released by media outfits and was blamed for his unprofessional conduct on the set of his 2018 drama The Time.

The actress was slated to attend the press conference for Recalled before the issue broke out. However, she decided to pull out at the last minute because of the slew of negative reports about her.

She also decided to beg off the fantasy drama Island wherein she was supposed to begin filming in June with Kim Nam Gil and Cha Eun Woo as advertisers distanced themselves from her and terminated her endorsement contracts.

Experts are now hailing the surprise results of ‘Recalled’ in the box office as a “noise marketing success.”
