As with every zombie film or series, there are characters whom fans root for but there are some who just manage to get on your nerves without having to do anything. Netflix’s zombie series is no exception and processing the aftermath of the 12 episode feature just comes as part of the debriefing.
Here are the Best and Worst Characters from All of Us Are Dead.
Best:
Cheong San. This guy may be clueless about matters of the heart but he is loyal to his friends and stands up for them despite peer pressure. He never once doubted his best friend Gyeong Su (he was right if not for the malice of Nayeon) but when push came to shove, he did what had to be done to save the rest. He saved the group countless times and put his life on the line to get help. He was a hero to the end. Too bad that his love story did not bloom to fruition as we would have liked.

Worst:
On Ju. She’s supposed to be the female lead character but its really hard to root for her because she doesn’t speak up and often falls into stupor, especially during the difficult moments. She could have died countless times if not for Cheong San and she was just completely clueless about his feelings for her, and her own feelings for that matter. While she made contributions to the team, it wasn’t enough to merit her billing.

Best:
Su Hyeok. He protected his friends at the risk of his own life. He knew who he liked and never considered going for On Ju because he knew Cheong San liked her (even if he was in denial at first). He always pulled his weight, and he stood up for Nam Ra even though even he wasn’t sure that she would turn. He would have gladly turned into a zombie to keep her company. He’s just basically a great guy who used his physically and resourcefulness to the team’s advantage.

Worst:
Na Yeon. Na Yeon is the worst person to be stuck with during a crisis. She is selfish and arrogant and wouldn’t mind throwing everyone under a bus to save her skin. Ms. Park may have excused her behavior as a camouflage for her fear and lack of friends but even before the zombie apocalypse, she already had an attitude problem and looked down on her poorer classmates.
Best:
Dae Su. No doubt everyone was feeling stressed and afraid of being bitten by zombies but Dae Su used his body and strength to protect his friends. He also made them laugh when they were feeling the most desperate. When he was injured, he, unlike Joon Sung, did not ask to be carried around like Joon Sung. He fought bravely and hurt deeply when his friends succumbed one by one.
Worst:
Gwi Nam. Of all the people to become compatible with the virus, it had to be an evil character like Gwi Nam. He was a lackey who craved power before the apocalypse and mercilessly used his schoolmates as a human shield at the height of the attacks. He felt no remorse in killing fellow humans and when he reached the top of the food chain, so to speak, he was terrifyingly evil.
Best.
Woo Jin and Ha Ri. A good sister through and through, Ha Ri risked her life to scour a zombie infested school to find her little brother. Her moments with Woo Jin were adorable as they engaged in sibling banter and she let him sleep on her lap. Ha Ri was levelheaded and cool during crisis and never backed down from a fight. Woo Jin may have suffered from a lack of attention at home but he loved his noona and was proud of her nonetheless. He also helped his classmates survive countless times and neither endangered them nor alienated anyone.
Worst.
Cheol Soo. Even worse than Gwi Nam is Cheol Soo, who could have saved his schoolmates earlier had he just opened the rooftop door. He casts himself as a victim when he was an accomplice (although reluctant) in the blackmail of Eun Ji. How cowardice and his self righteousness in leaving his schoolmates behind to die were the worst.
Best.
Nam So Ju. No one took more risks in this entire series than the character of Nam So Ju. He literally went through hell to save his daughter. He was smart, he was upright, and he tried to do the right thing at every turn. Definitely a hero. Appa of the year!
