All in all, Bird Box was a cross between an M. Night Shyamalan and a John Kransinki brainchild. I know you would agree once you’ve seen it. The vibe is too strong it is undeniable. Not too shabby, this thriller, and passing marks all around. I would disagree with anyone who will way that its all just hype though. Bird Box was pretty good on its own. Not the best, but still good.
All in all, I was a bigger fan of the idea than the actual Black Mirror special. Judging by Black Mirror standards, it was quite consistent with the thought provoking theme of the series but it didn’t have as much impact as its predecessors. Still, as the first of its kind interactive streaming episode, it was solid enough to spawn a follow up. However, I can’t count myself as a fan of this type of set up just yet because it definitely takes time to get used to. I would have to wait until it grows on me.
All in all, I was completely blown away by the entire production. It was very simple but it was perfectly paced and set up just right. It had just the right amount of push and pull to keep audiences hooked and I, for one, was at the edge of my seat the entire time, rooting for a happy end for these three characters I have come to love in a small period of time. The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is quite different from what I would normally invest my time on but it was a series that left its mark on me. It was brilliant.
All in all, I like the feel and flow of Creeped Out. While its not scary enough to keep you awake at night, its a good show for pre-teens and teens because its cool enough to keep them intrested and it has enough substance and style to deliver good standalone stories that gets the kids to think. Check it out on Netflix before the second season comes out next year.
If Disney and Hallmark had a baby, then The Princess Switch would probably be it. It stars High […]
All in all, I love how Christmas-y the entire movie was. It manages to embody everything that people love about the holidays and it even got me tearing up through the corniest and cheesiest of dialogues simply because it taps into audiences’ soft spot for family and love. The elves are super cute, especially Lars and Bjorn who can’t get enough of candy canes. I loved Santa’s Fast and the Furious moment, his hatred for his commercial depictions, his brutal frankness and his musical number and the reveal on who Mrs. Claus was. It was fun and entertaining yet it was funny and dramatic at the same time and that’s a plus and a plus on my book. Personally, I think this could work perfectly as a standalone but I wouldn’t mind sitting through a sequel if Netflix decides to greenlight a follow up movie for next year. Thumbs up to the entire team behind this movie!
PS. By the way, my nephew sat through the entire movie and this is the first time he has completed watching an entire full feature film and remained interested throughout. If that isn’t a shining endorsement, I don’t know what is. Thank you or this gem, Netflix!
I was really excited about The Holiday Calendar and I had it down on my Netflix list as […]
All in all, Accidentally in Love was light and very easy to digest. It delivered a lot of laughs, a lot of romance, absolute cuteness and great music — everything that a good romcom should be. Its the gift that keeps on giving because of its positive message. I hope Guo Junchen and Sun Yi Ning land more leading roles in the future after this series. They deserve it.
All in all, I felt that AHS Apocalypse was a strong installment to the franchise and utilized its well oiled cast very well as it always has. However, I felt at times, that the storytelling was lopsided and forced to accommodate the elements from the previous installments and the sentimentality of this connection kept the show on delivering the finale that it was hyping up for the past eight years.
All in all, Veronica is not a hard core horror film but it was well made and took its time to establish an affinity for a strong central character in the titular role. You can’t watch this film and not feel for her.
