If you’re a fan of the DCEU, this is the right movie for you. Feel free to set your expectations high because this film delivered on so many counts. If you’re a movie fan who wants to see a good film and have four hours of your time to spare, this might not be a bad way to go about it. The Snyder Cut is available to stream on HBO Max and HBO Go. Thank you for including us this time around, HBO.

All in all, I loved that the film reignited interest in a character that always took the backseat to the likes of Batman and Superman, just like Iron Man was to Captain America before the film blew up to be a box office success. Robert Downey Jr. connected Iron Man to the fans. Aquaman, for his part, was cool and edgy and was a true superhero through and through. The movie showed his journey to meet his destiny and it wasn’t corny one single bit but because Arthur was just like any one of us. Jason Momoa made Aquaman a part of the audience’s family like he was a part of the ocean and surface worlds and he did it in the short space of 2 1/2 hours. So congrats DC, after many tries, you finally nailed it. And it was EPIC. All caps. You deserve it.

I must admit that I was expecting something different from the trailer but at the end of the day, I felt that it was a good (if not great) first outing for the Justice League. There were conflicts among the characters with strong personalities clashing, as much as there were hits and misses throughout the film. But for a movie that endured as much as it did within the production and development schedule, to come up with a solid addition to the franchise was enough of an achievement.
