From nightmare to living the fantasy,  While You Were Sleeping came full circle. It was a great binge watch that I would definitely re-watch one of these days like many of my favorites.

All in all, sorry to say but Power Rangers 2017 was a veritable cheesefest. It wasn’t a bad movie per se but it seemed like it squandered the opportunity to reinvent itself and expand on the gains of their strong fanbase. Unfortunately, the only gain it managed was to deliver a film that tried so hard but was obviously a slow-paced so-so run off the mill superhero movie. For a film whose slogan is “Its Morphin Time”, this one took its sweet time to deliver on the morphing part. Not cool.

There were a lot of cool things about this movie. The fight scenes were something to behold. The script (by superteam Akiva Goldsman, Jeff Pinkner, Anders Thomas Jensen and Nikolaj Arcel) was equally good. The gunbattles were neat but I’m an even bigger fan of the reloads. Its weird, I know but you have to see the movie to understand what I’m talking about. The CGI was also masterfully used. It wasn’t overdone just because the studio had the budget to do it, and this was very good news for the overall outcome of the movie.

All in all, “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” was able to deliver a serious message about taking responsibility for one’s strengths (literally and figuratively) in a light and fun atmosphere by using sometimes over the top comedy that pokes fun at the common tropes in rom-com. It maintained audiences’ interest with a multi-faceted story that engaged and entertained from the first minute up to the last. Never a boring moment with this series, whether it was in solving crime or falling in love. But its main strength was truly the insane chemistry between the lead characters. I fervently hope that Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young get to work in another rom-com soon, and I mean soon. For now, I will content myself while watching this series over and over and over and over again.
